Derrick L. Barginere, a.k.a. Blaque Watch, inherited a smooth, rugged, and lyrical style from his observations and experiences in Fayetteville, North Carolina. When asked about the name or concept, Blaque Watch, he replied, "Blaque represents the Self in all people, or the source of all things in existence. "Out of the darkness came the light." Watch represents life, observations, and experience. The Street Politics album illustrates that Blaque Watch is both a student and disciple of Hip-Hop culture and music.
